How to Update DNS Records for Hosting Your Website with Shopify

If you have registered a domain with DOMAINScanada.ca and wish to host your website with shopify.com, this is a simple process that requires the addition of two DNS records.

To access the DNS settings for your domain, follow the How to Update/Manage DNS guide and then enter the Shopify specific DNS entries below.

1. First create the A record with the Shopify IP address:

Host Name Record Type Address Priority
@ A (Address) 22.227.38.32

2. Click 'Save Changes' to save the record and to add a new empty DNS record field.

3. Next create the CNAME record with your shop address:

Host Name Record Type Address Priority
www CNAME (Alias)
YourStore.myshopify.com.
Note: The trailing period at the end of the domain in the 'Address' field above is mandatory to prevent the system from appending the parent
domain to the end of the address.

4. Click 'Save Changes' to save the record.
